An Embedded Regulatory Content Update ensures that your product compliance processes are up to date with the latest regulations, helping you meet your legal obligations.
SAP delivers new and updated compliance requirements for Product Marketability, Safety Data Sheet Management, and Dangerous Goods Management, which you can use in your product compliance processes. You can view all SAP-delivered compliance requirements using the Manage Compliance Requirements app. To use the compliance requirements in your product compliance processes, you must activate the ones that are relevant to your own business and deactivate the ones that are not relevant using the Activate Compliance Requirements app. After activating a compliance requirement, you want to use, you must assign it to at least one compliance purpose using the Manage Compliance Purposes app.

With this new 2308 release, expired compliance requirement versions are introduced, and 28 versions for safety data sheet management are set to Historical.
With this, we introduce also the lifecycle of compliance requirement versions with the possibility of Maintain Status in Manage Compliance Requirements
The statuses here are New, released, under Revision, and Historical.

When a product is intended to be transported, you, as a dangerous goods specialist, are responsible for assessing this product. If the product is a dangerous good, you have to classify it according to the dangerous goods regulations that are applicable to the country/region in which the product is transported.
With this new release, you can now classify unpackaged and packaged products according to the Chinese JT/T 617.3 dangerous goods regulation.
To support the classification according to JT/T 617.3, a new compliance requirement and a new app are delivered, and an existing app has been enhanced:

Loading of regulatory content, like substances, has been streamlined for better performance and use of the regulatory content service. Instead of loading content into tables and updating only related to a specific release or support package, now all customers are able to have substance information delivered continuously. This content is delivered as part of the most current release. All content is available, without this relationship to a specific support package.

This ensures that all compositions are made up of the most current and accurate substances, which are the foundation of automated compliance checks within the system.

The "Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz" (LkSG) is a German law that establishes corporate due diligence obligations in supply chains. It requires companies to take responsibility for ensuring that human rights are respected, social and environmental standards are upheld, and risks of violations are minimized throughout their supply chains.
Under the LkSG, companies with a certain size and turnover are required to implement due diligence measures to identify and prevent human rights violations, environmental harm, and other risks within their supply chains. These measures include:
Non-compliance with the LkSG can result in penalties, including fines and exclusion from public procurement processes.
It's important to note that the LkSG is specific to Germany, but similar laws and regulations exist or are being considered in other countries as well. The aim of these laws is to promote responsible business conduct and ensure that companies are accountable for the impacts of their supply chains.

With the Process Compliance Disclosures - For Suppliers (F7370) app, you can streamline the collection and consolidation of incoming compliance data for your suppliers based on corporate-wide compliance disclosures.

This feature introduces the Compliance Disclosure compliance pattern to support compliance with supply chain due diligence acts.
As a first step, product stewardship specialists for product compliance can create and activate compliance requirement versions that are based on this new compliance pattern. The master data specialist for product compliance assigns these compliance requirement versions to compliance disclosures in the Process Compliance Disclosures - For Suppliers (F7370) app to assess the compliance status of each compliance declaration.

To streamline the processing of compliance disclosures, this feature enables you to specify a date of receipt for each compliance disclosure, as well as define the compliance disclosure type, such as a self-assessment, audit results, laboratory results, or information from a third party. You can sort and filter compliance disclosures by these and other values.
Labeling, marking, and placarding provide essential information about the nature of the hazardous materials being transported. This information helps ensure that proper precautions are taken during handling, storage, and transportation to minimize the risk of accidents, spills, or other incidents that could harm people, property, or the environment.
For a packer of dangerous goods in a warehouse, it's important to know the labeling and marking information for a product, that is to be transported, to comply with the applicable dangerous goods regulations.
With this new 2308 release, you can view dangerous goods marking texts and additional labels that have to be affixed to a package. You can enter a business document number and display all required marking texts and labels for the items that are included in this document.

Demo 2: Enable packers to create packages that are compliant with dangerous goods regulations.
To support the packer, the View Markings and Labels – Dangerous Goods app (App ID: F7369) is provided. With this app, the packer can search by a business documents ID and view the labeling and marking information for all items that are included in this business document.

With this new 2308 release, you can validate and print labels. Labels can be validated based on the previous label configurations created in the Manage Label Configurations app and their assignment to a product in the Manage Label Assignments app. Depending on the business document, you can validate the completeness of relevant labels. Afterward, you can create a print request for a specific label. This assessment can help you make sure that the labels are properly set up prior to the printing process.

As a product stewardship specialist, you can use the Manage Basic Compliance Data - Unpackaged Products app (App ID F2641) to create compliance views of unpackaged products based on your R&D data. Once you’ve provided the compliance data for an unpackaged product, such as compositions and market requirements, you can use this compliance view consistently in multiple business processes, such as responding to compliance requests. By creating such compliance views of unpackaged products, you enable regulation experts to continue with their work to assess the marketability, safety data sheet status, and dangerous goods status of unpackaged products. If there are identical products in the system, you can reuse the compliance view.
With this new 2308 release, you can search for unpackaged products by using the assigned packaged products.

If a safety data sheet is sent to South Korea, an SDS number must be printed in the header of the safety data sheet. This SDS number is assigned when the safety data sheet is submitted to the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor (MoEL).
The Korean SDS Number consists of the following two parts:
The company-specific part is entered in the Manage Legal Entities app. The product-specific part is entered in the new Manage Korean SDS Number (App ID F7414) app as part of the compliance assessment for an unpackaged product.
You can then create the legally required safety data sheet number for South Korea which consists of a product part and a company part. These two parts are combined together and printed on the safety data sheet during the final generation of the South Korean safety data sheet.

Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Number on Korean SDSs

If a safety data sheet is sent to South Korea, an SDS number must be printed in the header of the safety data sheet. This SDS number is assigned when the safety data sheet is submitted to the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor (MoEL).
The Korean SDS Number consists of the following two parts:
- A product-specific part, also called SDS Number (Product Part)
- A business-place-specific part, also called SDS Number (Company Part)
Key Features
The company-specific part is entered in the Manage Legal Entities app. The product-specific part is entered in the new Manage Korean SDS Number (App ID F7414) app as part of the compliance assessment for an unpackaged product.
You can then create the legally required safety data sheet number for South Korea which consists of a product part and a company part. These two parts are combined together and printed on the safety data sheet during the final generation of the South Korean safety data sheet.
