With the SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2308 upgrade a new feature is now available: a field for Warehouse Number selection in the login page at the Pack Outbound Deliveries App. This new field will help you to organize your storage bin based on the warehouse number and easily search for all storage bins in the warehouse by the filter bar.

In this blog post, I will provide a more in-depth explanation of this newly introduced feature, addressing a potential concern that might arise and the benefits of it.

Pack Outbound Deliveries APP before CE2308


Before CE2308, there was no warehouse number input in the login page and there was no warehouse number filter in the value help of the work center, and storage bin Pack Outbound Deliveries App used the warehouse defined in the default user setting.  When the user inputs a storage bin in the input, a storage bin without a warehouse number would be saved in the application history as “recently used” one. When the user used Pack Outbound Deliveries App later, the saved “recently used” storage bin would be displayed below the storage bin input.

In CE2308, we enabled warehouse number input. And warehouse number was also added to the value help of the storage bin and work center. Then in the “recently used” popover, a new column for warehouse is displayed. The warehouse number of the selected storage bin/work center would be applied to the warehouse number input automatically. For example, if the user fills the warehouse number input with 1050 first, then he goes to the value help of the storage bin. After he selects a storage bin in warehouse number 1750, 1750 will be copied to the warehouse number input automatically.

Before CE2308, the Pack Outbound Deliveries APP always uses the warehouse number defined in the user setting. After CE2308, Pack Outbound Deliveries APP will use the warehouse number in the user setting only when it is the first time the user uses the Pack Outbound Deliveries. Generally, when the user enters the log-on page of the Pack Outbound Deliveries APP, the warehouse number input and work center input will be automatically filled with the ones he used last time. Hence after CE2308, it is not necessary that the initial value of the warehouse number input in the Pack Outbound Deliveries APP is the same as the warehouse number in the user setting.

A potential problem when using this new enhancement for the first time


A potential problem could arise during your initial usage of this enhanced field due to this APP modification. When utilizing the Pack Outbound Deliveries APP and inputting a storage bin from the list of recently used options, you might encounter a situation where the entire application interface goes blank, impeding to start packing with the defined fields.
