Welcome to our blog series about SAP Subscription Billing’s new features!

In the past couple of weeks, we've delivered some useful enhancements to SAP Subscription Billing: Firstly, the ability to display detailed pricing information for price elements in bills, and secondly, a couple of API improvements. Let's take a look at them in detail:

Price Element Details in Bills

Earlier this year, we added the option to display detailed information about charges or credits in the Manage Billing Data app. Now we've also enabled this option for the price elements used to calculate charges and credits when using pricing schemes:

Click on price element to see pricing details

Example: Details of a price element for a recurring charge with linear volume pricing

API Enhancements

  • In the Bills API, the $filter query syntax (following the OData standard) has been extended for the endpoint /bills (GET). It now supports filtering with null to find bills without a given property.
To find out more about using the $filter query with the null parameter, read the API reference for the endpoint on the SAP Business Accelerator Hub:

  • With the Subscriptions API, you can now avoid duplicate creation of identical subscriptions based on an externally provided string. The endpoint /subscriptions (POST) has been updated to support a duplicate check when creating subscriptions.

The duplicate check avoids duplicate subscriptions when a subscription is created by an external system. This can happen, for example, when the external system sends the subscription data twice due to a network error.
