Vedanta Ltd. plans to raise INR 25 billion ($301.2 million) through a private placement of non-convertible debentures, or NCDs, with Oaktree Capital Management expected to anchor the issue, said a source close to and a source familiar with the matter.

The NCDs are expected to be issued this month, the sources said.

While Oaktree is likely to participate in the NCD issue, it is also a holder of bonds issued by Vedanta Ltd.’s parent, Vedanta Resources Ltd., and is trying to negotiate better...
