Value analysis of improvement opportunities

One of the main challenges for businesses in process improvement is demonstrating the clear value of improvement initiatives. With the August release, we are pleased to introduce value analysis for improvement activities. This update shows how much value, in monetary terms, you can gain by improving the current automation rate of each of your performance indicators to the target rate. You can run a value analysis exercise, filtering based on line of business and value drivers. The value is delivered as Total Estimated Benefit and will be in the currency you have set. The currency can be changed to another of your choosing. This update is aimed at helping you to quickly identify improvement opportunities and assess your current state (automation rate of performance indicators). There are clear and defined targets on how to generate value, and also how to demonstrate the value of improvement initiatives, helping you to deliver measurable and tangible value.

Excluding personal data from data collection in ERP system

A lot of different data types are stored in ERP systems that can be investigated with SAP Signavio Process Insights. Due to company preferences and compliance reasons, personal data might need to be excluded from data collection runs. This update gives you greater control over your data, allowing you to decide which personal data should be made available in SAP Signavio Process Insights, and which shouldn’t. This represents another step in helping you to comply with data protection laws. It is also aimed at helping you to better comply with the internal regulations and policies in your organization that govern data management.

Process analysis and mining:

Process analysts profit from automated insights enhancements that provide them with additional context regarding the relevance of the identified insights.

Further enhancements include the possibility to identify the behavior of anomalies over time, powered by a new advanced algorithm in automated insights. This enhanced approach to anomaly detection enables better-informed decisions by spotting unusual process values and KPIs over time.

New SIGNAL functions allow process analysts to shorten time to insights.  The new windowed standard deviation allows them to now visually analyze the behavior of standard statistical calculations over time, such as the cycle time average and standard distribution, allowing them to intervene anytime significant changes occur.

Further functions allow process analyst to calculate the duration between two events including the consideration of working calendar or support type conversion to make attributes of one type compatible to another type for calculations or functions, such as converting a duration in days to a numeric variable in euros. Finally, we remove the limit from time series.

For dashboards, we introduced the process view switcher. Administrators can now assign multiple process views to dashboards, facilitating the administration and governance of data access and visibility.  The process conformance and distribution widgets are also now supported in dashboards, allowing for a seamless usage of available process mining widgets in dashboards. Process models can now also be linked to dashboards.

Actions:

We released our new capability Actions with our May 2023 release. With Actions, analysts and business users can close the loop from insight to action by flexibly defining which process dynamics will automatically start selected process automations, workflows and/or notifications.

New actions types now include SAP Cloud Integration, allowing process analysts to send actions to any SAP and 3rd party systems via SAP Cloud Integration.

A main challenge in implementing process improvement is having the ability to send insights and data from process mining to any given system. As the user has multiple solutions in their landscape, not having these integration options can result in disconnected processes and suboptimal results in their process improvement journey.

With an action type for the SAP Cloud Integration capability within SAP Integration Suite, process analysts can bridge this gap by leveraging the wide range of integration capabilities of Cloud Integration in combination with SAP Signavio Process Intelligence.

This allows process analysts to expand the reach of process mining to multiple stakeholders, delivering proactive information to alert the organization about critical process dynamics, while reducing time to remediation.

New actions types include now SAP event mesh, expanding the connectivity options for process analysts and allowing them to share their process findings and data into an event mesh queue to be consumed by several applications.

Many IT landscapes focus on an event-driven architecture and leverage SAP Event Mesh to allow applications to communicate through asynchronous events.

With an action type in SAP Signavio Process Intelligence for SAP Event Mesh, process mining results can be sent to SAP Event Mesh whenever a certain condition is met, and users will receive the latest events directly when they occur. This increases visibility on process performance and behavior across the organization, while assuring data harmonization of the IT landscape.

LeanIX enterprise architecture integration

Our partnership with LeanIX continues to grow and with investment in technical integration. We are pleased to announce two developments with the August 2023 release.

Enhanced integration capabilities

All relevant SAP Signavio Process Task and Process Activity information is now centrally linked to the LeanIX Fact Sheet, helping you to easily identify your usage across both products, increasing transparency on type of usage. Additionally, the extended mapping of LeanIX related Fact Sheets with SAP Signavio dictionary item attributes help you to easily oversee referenced Fact Sheets (e.g., Application to User Group) for synchronized Dictionary entries. This removes the extra steps of going back and forth between SAP Signavio and LeanIX.

Heads up: LeanIX Meta Model Evolution

LeanIX's pre-defined Meta Model has remained largely unchanged over the years. Major influences like project-to-product, strategic platforms, modeling of microservices, mapping business architecture, and an increased request for more guidance by LeanIX will now lead to an evolution of the Meta Model. It will contain an additional 'Platform' Fact Sheet type, changes int Fact Sheet names, and added out-of-the-box subtypes for several Fact Sheet types.

In Q3 2023, LeanIX rolls out the evolved Meta Model to new workspaces. For existing customers, LeanIX plans to provide an optionto enhance their Meta Model while continuing to stay in control. The new meta model has no immediate impact to SAP customers.

For every SAP Signavio customer who wants to migrate to benefit from the new Meta Model to the new Meta Model, LeanIX provides individual support.

Summary

The main benefit from this release is the extended support for SAP ECC legacy systems allowing you to deploy the analytical capabilities of SAP Signavio Process Insights and leverage the plug and gain approach in your transformation initiatives. Other benefits are enhanced guidance on how best to start your transformation and value realization, faster time-to-analysis, an improved performance and integration experience and clear visibility and insights into customer sentiment.
